Rebecca Butler (Stage Manager / Director)
Rebecca moved to Chicago in the fall of 2007 to pursue her dream of a theatre career after earning both her BA and MA in Theatre Directing from Kansas State University. Working at various Chicago area theatres in various capacities, she eventually found herself asked to join the ranks of Chicago dell'Arte while stage managing A Hampstead Hooligan in King Arthur's Court. Whether directing The Literati or stage managing Much Ado About Nothing, Rebecca considers herself lucky to be surrounded by her extremely talented and hilarious Chicago dell'Arte cohorts. Favorite past theatre credits include Pluto was a Planet (Around the Coyote Gallery), Disappearing Acts (Piven Theatre Workshop), Perseus and Medusa (Piccolo Theatre), The Sea (Theatre Mir), and Joan's Laughter (the side project).
First memory of working with Chicago dell'Arte (a haiku)
Silly boys argue.
Why have a stage manager?
Soon. Soon they will learn.
Favorite Chicago dell'Arte moment
Everyone giving high fives while shouting "We broke Rebecca!" as I sat in the corner laughing so hard that I started to cry.
