Chicago dell'Arte

2010 Season

The Literati (April 2010)

While attempting to prove that comedic adaptations of classic literature always work, Ned, Nick, and Derek caused a rift in the Time-Space Continuum through sheer force of hubris. Now, they are at the mercy of their audience, who each night roll the Die of Fate to randomly pick from a list of twenty-five classic novels, such as War & Peace, Robinson Crusoe, and Little Women. Whatever comes up is what they must perform in short comic retellings. They are now The Literati, charged with knowing all. Let's just hope they remember it all. So begins the best of ideas and the worst of ideas

Much Ado About Nothing (September 2010):

Shakespeare's classic comedy infused with a bit of Commedia dell'Arte.
The timeless tale of two couples: Benedick and Beatrice shoved together in spite of their own witty barbs and declarations against matrimony; and Claudio and Hero, a fairy tale romance threatened by traitorous plots.  Filled with true love's comedic ups and downs, shameless battles of wit and a host of colorful comedic characters, it's no wonder Much Ado About Nothing is loved by audiences the world over.

A Christmas Carl
(December 2010):

Join us for our seasonal re-imagining of the "A Christmas Carol".  This year we find the show set in an auto shop in Cleburne, Tx.  The proprietor, Carl Scrooge, is making his employees work Christmas day, and they aren't having it.  They work together, and using the Dicken's classic, they work to give carl a new lease on life.
